  • DomeLight "invisible" having no effect in perspective view

    Hi,

Uploaded scene to FTP, filename "Invisible_Domelight.zip"

    Setup:
Simple scene, VRayPlane as matte groundplane, TorusKnot object with metal shader, a single domelight with a texture (HDRI) and a vray camera

    Software:
    3ds max Design 2014 SP5
    VRay 3.30.05

    Issue:
The "invisible" checkbox seems to have no effect when rendering from a perspective view.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Open Scene
    2) Maximize the Camera viewport, hit Render; RT will start and show you an image where the HDRI is visible in the background.
    3) Stop RT, change viewport to a perspective viewport, hit render again; RT will start but won't show the HDRI in the background.

This setup is with VRayCamera exposure enabled, so not a "classic" HDRI setup in that way, but it should work. Anyways, you can check the uploaded scene.
    Software:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    3ds Max 2016 SP4
    V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

    Hardware:
    Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
    64GB RAM

Apparently, after re-starting max it works as intended....strange.

Note that when you change views (f.e. camera to perspective with different exposure) that have different exposure setups while ActiveShade is running, RT must be restarted.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done
