  • How to make RT GPU Handle Bumps with metals?

I have been noticing that GPU RT handles bumps a bit differently than Advance. I have been, because of this, been using the bump slot less and less. However, I'm meant to do a brushed metal and I'm unsure how to handle it without bump. You can see in the image, what my image looked like with RT GPU and how VRay Advance handled the very same material. Both had BF+LC solution implemented.

Edit: It seems that on the map I changed the fall-off curve of the map in order to push the blacks and whites, but RT did not like that too much it seems. I turned that off and it works better without all that grunge.

Can you send us a simplified version of the scene so we could see better how much is the difference between both engines?
Thank you very much in advance.

Hey Svetlozar, I'll have it on the drop box ready for you in the next 30 minutes. I'll send the link to support@chaosgroup.com

Thanks for the scene, we managed to reproduce the difference between the GPU and ADV engines.
This is a known behavior with the GPU rendering which will be fixed for the future versions of V-Ray.
We'll let you know when we have some improvements on the subject.
