  • CUDA error 700 when rendering a sequence

    Hi guys,
    i am rendering this scene:

Name:	scene.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	542.6 KB
ID:	884740

this is a sequence of cca 350 frames...after 6 or sevent frame we get this error:

Name:	CUDAerrorlog.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	403.3 KB
ID:	884741

we are rendering the scene over 2 cards using DR RT server.
I probably dont have to tell you that it renders blazingly fast to reach the desired quality compared to our 10 node renderfarm ))
So we need to make this work...however we keep running into problems when trying to render sequences over RT and this is one of them.

Could you please help us debug this?
I can send the scene for inspection.....just dotn know to whom pretty new to RT crowd

    Cheers
    Martin

      Hi Martin,

Please upload somewhere the scene and send the link to peter.matanov@chaosgroup.com
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

It will be helpful to have a bit more information about the setup as well (V-Ray version, driver version, types of GPUs, etc). All of these is printed in the V-Ray log, so if you don't want to bother checking all these manually you can just send the full V-Ray log altogether with the scene. This will help to make sure we are testing the right thing.

        Thanks,
        Best,
        Blago.

Had the exact same issue today after 240 frames with no issue on a 1k frames render
Just clicked render again to proceed and don't have any issues since.
Hard part is to recreate the bug I guess as if it render fine for more than 200 frames, it hard to narrow down.
I can send the file tomorrow if needed

            Hi guys,
sending the scene to Peter Matanov now.
Unfortunatelly the log is not longe available as i ve opened different scenes on the computer.
This seems like a random bug. I will put the driver versions and the SW versions in the email.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I think I fixed the issues, will take up some time for the QA team to confirm that (and that I haven't broken anything else).

We will let you know when the fix gets into the stable nightly builds. If all is okay it will take a week or so. If you are in a hurry, we can make a build sooner than that.

Thanks a lot for your time, the scene and the report !

Thats great news Blago as were quite pushed with deadline....it takes 21 minutes to compute on one computer with RT and it takes 3H47mins to compute over CPU so you can imagine )
