  • 3.5 RT - VRayVertexColor not working in Cuda mode

I'm on a nightly from a couple of weeks back and have noticed that in vray_adv_35501_maya2016_x64_27164, VrayVertexColor only returns black when rendering with the Cuda progressive rendering. It shows up fine in CPU mode and during the LC generation (which makes sense, because it's using the cpu for that), but seems broken in Cuda mode. Is this a known bug? Any chance of getting this fixed in an upcoming nightly, I have a project on the go that would benefit greatly from having this fixed.

For reference, I'm seeing this with an alembic mesh generated out of Houdini using a Cd vertex attribute, loaded in using a VrayProxyObject....same approach that has worked in the past and seems to work fine on the cpu.

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, this is currently not supported on the GPU, but it's on our to-do list. I'll bump up its priority, but I can't give you any time frame for the implementation.
I'll let you know when there's progress on this.

Ah, ok, I saw Vertex Color listed here https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...orted+Features and thought that meant VrayVertexColor, but I guess it's just referring to the vertex color on a Maya mesh.

Seems like a mistake on our docs page. Apologies for the confusion, we'll have it fixed.

It's also looking like VrayRaySwitch doesn't seem to be working properly in cuda mode as well. Can you confirm whether or not that node should work and otherwise if it's on the to-do list.

Correct, RaySwitch is not supported for GPU at the moment. I'll make a note to fix the docs page. Again - apologies for the inconvenience.
