  • RT - First Image of Image Sequence Black

I couldn?t find this topic in this forum.

When I render an image Sequence, the first frame always renders Black.
Also when the loop starts again at frame1. This is only at Vray RT (CPU and CUDA). Vray Adv works fine. Also tried in "clean" scene.

    Tried Vray 3.4 and 3.6 (3dsmax 2013 x64)

Do you have another Max version that you can test? Can you share a simple scene with that issue?

      Unfortunately I only have 3dsmax 2013..

      The Scene is here:

But its quite simple. Frame 5 is the one, where the Texture doesn?t render (because I told the imagesequence to begin at frame 5)..

Its working fine on my side. Can you attach a few of the sequence images?

Sure. I have attached the first 10 Frames. And also 3 Screenshots from the viewport, that shows, how it looks, if I render..

Still the same result. Which V-Ray version exactly are you using? Also can you send us vraylog.txt file after rendering?

Took a while, to find it in the %temp% folder.
              But here it is:

According to the log: warning: Bitmap file "D:\ARBEIT\Dropbox-NEU\Dropbox\2017\ARBEIT\16-KHS\03-LED-WALL\00-3D\Aquariumwall-RENDER\F_Bearbeitet\Bubble-01\Alpha\п?їAquawall01-Bubbles-_000.jpg" failed to load: Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden.
this file can not be found. There are some strange symbols "п?ї" in front of the name. Could you please open your .ifl file and check the name of the first sequence image? How did you generate this .ifl file?

The IFL File seems fine. Also it works with Vray Adv or other renderers. It only occured with Vray RT.
But it turned out that I only tried Vray 3.5 and 3.6 .. with 3.4 it works fine. So for now the problem is solved. Eventhough its a little sad, to switch to an older version.

I't very difficult to debug something that you can't reproduce. I'll do some more tests and hopefully I'll replicate the issue.

Is your playback rate (VRayBitmap/Bitmap setting) set as a fractional number?
