I've come across a weird bug in RT GPU 3.60.02/3ds max 2018. If I setup a Blend Mtl with a some coats with blend masks, then if I use the same normal map for all of the base/coat materials, then the blend masks stop working on the coats with the shared normal maps. If I even just duplicate the normal maps and don't have them linked to more than one coat/base material, then the blend masks work as expected.
