RT CPU rendering forever.

win7 max 2017 vray 3.60.03

When I render using rt cpu, the render never stop even thought the image is clean.

When using cuda it takes around 20 seconds and stops.

any idea what could be causing this?

What if you use the CUDA engine with the c++/cpu device?

Hi Vlado, it was not rendering forever finally just a lot slower. like 20 sec with RT cuda (gpu and cpu) and 6 minutes for RT cpu. On the other hand when trying to render my animation (which is a small insect walking always very small in the frame with motion blur) some frames take up to 30 minutes when the insect move faster (with more motion blur). So I will check with vray advance to compare. with adv, it was taking 4 minute for a frame but there was less fireflies and better shading.

With cuda cpu only it took 56.8s always with the same setting.

I finally rendered my sequence using ADV and with adv the frames with more motion blur are faster to render (30 second to 5 minutes). So finally instead of taking several hours with RT on my workstation with 2 gpu (rendertimes ranging from 3 to 30 minutes after pumping up the setting to try to get rid of fireflies) it takes only a few minutes with ADV on my CPU render farm (12 computers mostly dual xeons). i will see when I add more gpu soon how it can compare.
