Fireflies and posterized texture

max 2017, vray 3.60.03
When rendering with vray adv and RT cpu I get a smooth render but when trying cuda on the same scene I get posterized textures and fireflies. Are there any tips to get rid of these?

I could almost get rid of the fireflies by lowering max ray intensities to 3. Normally with ADV I was using sub-pixel mapping and clamp but didn't work with RT. Those fireflies are due to using a hdri and appear in the highlights on a body of a wet insect. The shading is still better in ADV but I guess it's a matter of modifiying my shader and texture always just using RT. I started my project with ADV...
