  • Glass windows stopping reflections behind

I assumed this was down to max depth, but I have increased both values for the glass to 20 (for reflection and refraction) but it seems to make no difference. The glass is double glazed, so there are 4 panes of glass here as the sliding doors are stacking up. I guess that should mean a minimum of 8 for the depth, right?

Any ideas why my furniture inside isn't reflecting?

    Kind Regards,

is the left with the glass and the right with glass hidden? What are we looking at here?

This seems odd. I just made a fast test with 8 glass sheets and reflections are fine even without adjusting default depth settings. What version of VRay are you using? Could you send the scene (or just a piece of it) over to alexander.soklev@chaosgroup.com for investigation?

Oops - sorry. I thought the image file names would appear. Left is with the glass. Right is without the glass.

I think I figured it out. The reflection depth figure needs to be changed on the materials for the items behind the glass rather than the glass windows. Seems counter intuitive for me. The default '5' is far too low for any composition like this where you have reflective objects behind glass.
