  • Vray additional outputs (sampler info ) currently not supported

It seems that currently the additional vray outputs in the maya sampler info are not supported in NEXT GPU. Is this possible to support? Or is there a workaround for this? I need to create an object normals pass, and the CPU render is just not fast enough for us compared to the speed we can get with GPU.

    Thanks

Maybe it could be possible to implement to enable CPU usage for some render elements to get them working during a GPU rendering.

You mean that rendering a black beauty with a black override (assuming it's not bumpNormals you're looking for) to get a normals RE has a measurable speed difference between CPU and GPU?
If that's the case, i'm sure support would love to see one such happening: share a scene if it's at all feasible for you.

That aside, can you not use the VRayNormals/VRayBumpNormals AoVs to the same effect?
You may have to transform them by the camera if you want them in another space, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

Or have i missed the point?

EDIT: i checked a recent nightly, and it seems the normals mode for the samplerinfo render element works fine in world and camera mode, at least. Object and arbitrary transform reference give me black. So does the bumpNormals.
Normals and bumpnormals Render Elements, however, work fine.
