  • RTX + CPU, when?

When are we going to see this feature?? Right now it isn’t possible to get max GPU performance in hybrid rendering when you have a RTX card

Thanks for the suggestion. We have this feature request logged in our system, however, we are unable to provide a specific implementation time. I'll increase the priority by adding your request as well.

It’s been a couple of years now. Any update?

Not quite yet, I'm afraid. The implementation is complex and requires a lot of planning, time, and resources. At this point, there are more urgent functionalities and features that need prioritizing, however, Hybrid Rendering with RTX will be considered for future releases.

          Twist Hello,

Like what Alexander said this is a complex and time-consuming task, it has been on the GPU roadmap for a while. What I wanted to add is that our Cuda mode has been improved quite a lot recently, specially with the latest 496 drivers, it should be closer to RTX in performance in most cases. If you have a powerful CPU, like a threadripper, it is not a bad idea to use Cuda mode.

          Best,
          Muhammed

I wouldn't expect to much by the RTX hybrid mode, but maybe it's better on your side. Could you render a test scene in Cuda and Hyprid and RTX? I would be curious about the advantages.

For example I get no speed increase by RTX or only very little. Also the hyprid mode is slower than Cuda, since the CPU is needed to feed the GPU here. In hyprid mode the GPU are slowed down by the busy CPU. I have a 2950x and 2x2080ti+3090.
