  • Energy Conservation on Refractive materials

A couple of years ago, some advancements were made on energy conservation for solid materials, but refractive were left to the side due to the solutions being too complex. Two years later, no news and I also found out today that a material with full reflective roughness and 0 refractive glossiness is broken in GPU mode, though swapping values to 0.999 and 0.001 kinda fixes it. But this is a workaround (See attachment)

Any plans to fix this for the upcoming release and also any news regarding a more complete solution to energy conservation?

Looking for an update on this one as well!

Hi, there was a recent tread about energy conservation for refractive materials here.
We do not have a solid time frame for this one. It could possibly make some progress in future versions but for now we can't promise anything.

I will check what is going on here and get back to the thread.

Hi, the issue with refraction glossiness set at zero and V-Ray GPU is reported as a bug (VGPU-6407). Thanks.
