I'm posting this here because VRay RT is amazing in it's current state and I don't want to cast a dark shadow in any way. These are my comments having used it for just a day which hopefully will be considered for future updates:
All of these things would ideally have on/off options in the Render Settings tab for VRay RT so that they can controlled separately from the main Render Settings.
- Independent Gamma control for the activeshade window (to solve the conflicts when using LWF)
- VRayDisplacement support
- VRayProxy support
- VRayToon support
The standalone DR software with linux support is amazing!! I wish we could do DR with the main VRay engine so easily.
I'm wondering if VrayRT respects cutoff settings for lights or if there's another similar issue... The RT preview gets to a certain level of quality and then seems to stop (it will get better after several hours) and the quality at say the 1 hour mark is not as good as the quality of a full VRay render that takes 2 minutes. This is very noticeable in dimly lit areas (see attached). This doesn't hinder the usefulness of RT for previewing purposes and I could definitely live with it.
Amazing product... Buy it and support Chaos and it will surely continue to improve!!
