It is not too hard (I've already done something similar for other purposes), but why not use one of the above solutions directly? Camstudio is free, and Camtasia has some nice editing capababilities.

You might also be able to use the animation script that I posted before - simply comment out the part that advances the time slider, and set it to record for a certain amount of time only, and you are done...

That's what I use currently - just a thought however - one less thing to have to load up and play with. I'm lazy.

I was thinking of that kind of script some long time ago... any chance u could give us access to ur version ? I'd love to do some quick prevs...
