Hi guys,
Not sure how it's for the moment, but I'm just guessing that the Light Cache is computed on each node when rendering through DR as they do in normal production render.
I was wondering if it was possible to have the Light Cache computed on the host computer and once done, send through the nodes/slaves so they can kick in straight in BF mode with the GPUs.
I might go for nodes with loads of GPUs in them but I would go for low-end CPUs as the big money needs to be spend on the GPUs.
This means that if the nodes need to compute the LC, it could take up to 6-10 times more than on my workstation.
A check-box like "Use local LC for slaves/DR" under the "Auto-start local slave" in the DR window would be awesome.
Thanks
Stan
