  • VrayMultiSubTex working on GPU

    Hi guys,
I was so pleased to see how the VrayMultiSubTex was pupped up with SP1.
Finaly something that can "nearly" replace the Multitexture map.
Although it works great with RT CPU, it doesn't for GPU.
Would it be possible to add that in the pipe?

At the same time, is it possible to have a "load multiple bitmap" dialogue?
I can easily load 70 different multi texture maps with multi texture, but having to pipe them in manually when using the VrayMultiSubTex is just a pain.

    Cheers

Yes, it will be supported. I'm not quite sure about the multiple bitmap loading? You want to just select all the files from a File Browse dialog and have them put in the slots of a multitexture?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

The multi map loading would be something like this :

      multi texture :

      VP Crossmaps :

For the moment, this is both setups :
Left RT Version with only 6 maps and a pain to control them.
Right usual version with production render and about 70 maps loaded

I hope this makes it clear.

      Cheers

        Hey,
Just wondering if any multi map loader would already be available into the next SP.

        Cheers

There is not much time for the next SP, but we'll see.

Out of curiosity, are all the 70 maps completely different? Or just color corrections of the same map?

          Best regards,
          Vlado

They are MultiTextures maps, so essentially the same kind but different maps .jpg as they have different patterns on them.
In addition to support of multiple maps, having CC on them (as in the MultiTextures) would be awesome.
Loading multiple maps would already be great.

            Hope this will make it

We sometimes use slight colour variations (random gamma), but often, for brick walls, we use, for example, 10 bitmaps of individual bricks and have them randomly distributed and flipped. This kind of thing is essential to our workflow.
              Kind Regards,
