  • Tiling artifacts with carbon_e.vrscan

    Hey guys,
I noticed this quite a few times now: The carbon_e.vrscan from the library is showing visible tiling artifacts, as shown in the two pictures. Judging by the file size, it must be an older scan. Is it possible to fix? Sadly, this is the only carbon scan in the whole library.

    Regards

    Oliver

    Hi Oliver,
yes this is known issue, but thank you for remind us to resolve it. The reason for these tiles is simple - the carbon_e material is very very old, in fact it's one of the very first materials ever scanned. At this time (2014) we had no technology to scan wide samples, neither the other techniques used to enlarge small samples.

Still, it is the only clearcoated carbon available in the library. If it could be rescanned, that would be great! We use that material very very often.
