  • GPU Ram and Vrayscan Mat

Hi, is there a way to optimized (reduced) the size of the vrayscan mat when submitting to GPU farm?
How can I find out the memory request by a scene when using GPU render?

    Thanks

One possibility is to provide all the materials in half res, this can decrease the memory usage up to four times, of course this can be used only if no closeup views are present.
About the memory request - the file size gives plausible estimation for the RAM usage of the vrscans, but i have no idea how to find the geometry needs. My observations are that in some cases the acceleration tree can consume huge amount of memory, perhaps the easiest way is just to see it in the task manager

Thanks, How can we make the vrayscan mat half res? I don't see any option for that.
There is no Marbe in the library, are you planing soon to add some? Also, please note that 650 mat are promoted (marketing goal), but without counting them, it looks like there is a lot less than that!

there is no option for half res, my ideawas to provide the materials in two distributions - full and half res.
but may be for GPU rendering would be good to have such option, i know that the GPU memory is limited, we will consider this possibility
did you really hit the GPU limitations in real production scene with vrscans?

A „half res“ option in the VrayScannedMtl would be nice. Checkbox, Quality slider or something.
