  • The 3dSmax resource collector doesn't seem to pick correctly the vrscans

    Hi!

I'm not sure the problem is from the software or from the plugin.

I was testing the vrscans at both my work and home. But there is no way the resource collector would link the vrscans. so every time i open the file i must relink the materials. With three or four materials i have no problem but i might have a bad time if i had 30 on the scene.

It was the same behavor in MAX 2015 and in 2017.

    it's not urgent, but it's a thing.

    Thank you in advance.

Sure. Thank you for the quick answer.

Let's say at work i load three materials from vrscans. I also load a hdri for the environment and at least a couple of 4k textures

When it comes the time to go home i try to use either the "ARCHIVE" command in the SAVE AS menu or the resource collector that is in the utilities panel.

Both perform well the archives colletion but when i decompress the ZIP file and open the MAX file in my computer the materials on the Material editor and check if everything is ok i discover that the vrscans show the "invalid material" message and i have to re link everything again so it can work.

In short. The materials are packed correctly but the material editor doesn't read the real location of the vrscans when i unpack.

      Best regards.

      Aleks

thanks, this is strange because i'm almost sure i used archive to transfer scenes and it was working, will try it again
