  • Overide Environment Reflection / Refraction

I'm looking for a way to keep a black background through a glazing while keeping the reflection/refraction with the vraysky outside as well as inside my space (see attachments)
I don't understand why it doesn't work that way.
I must be doing it wrong

What is the best way to achieve this?

Thank you very much for any advice

    Cheers

You mean the loss of VRaySky reflections in the chrome teapot, correct? This is because it is viewed through the glass and the Environment Override shows the Black refraction environment (not VRaySky). You can easily solve this by using an invisible VRayDome light, textured with the VRaySky instead of all the overrides (background should be black).

HI, thanks for posting. Why do you need this black sky? If it is for post-production you could set your glass object's Alpha contribution to 0 and replace your sky in post with whatever you want.

          Thank you for your reply
To further illustrate my point, let's say I have trees for example, when I want to change my sky in post-prod, I have a dirty fringe around leaves.

ohh yes, I will try that.. I also want to keep my VraySky reflections on my interior floor... In resume, I want exactly the same as I have with a "normal" set up like the first image but with a black sky
