  • VrayDecal and VrayScannedMtl - Bug Material ID Mask

    Hello

    Just discovered a bug when using a VrayScannedMtl and VrayDecal.
    The MaterialID pass does not take in account the alpha channel of the mask.
    When using a VrayMtl in place of the VrayScannedMtl, it works as espected. We get the alpha from the mask

    Using Vray 6 Update 2 (6.20.02) and Max 2024

    Is this a bug ?

    I see. I tested the other way around (decal with scanned, host object with VRayMtl). Reproduced and logged (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-14502). You can use VRayCryptomatte (ID Type: Node material name) as a workaround.

      Are you using the Mask feature in the VRayDecal itself? Seems to work as expected on my end. Mind if you attach the scene?

        Yes i'm alreadyusing the mask feature.
        I've upload the files using this ticket number "Request #291809"
