3.4 extreme loading and bad quality

Hi

I’m having issues with the latest official release. My large files are extremely slow to load (more than an hour!), and when they finally do load, the render quality is really bad. it seems like all shadows are missing?

they used to load in 5-10 minutes, and the quality and speed was great.

I dont have this problem in version 3.3 (or some of the previews for 3.4). Any suggestions?

@Herbo I have also noticed this, working in a large file 250mb and in 3.3 it would load in 5mins max. I had an issue where assets from 3.3 had not been included in 3.4, and so my vegetation had disappeared, I went back to 3.3. After @Demian_Gutberlet informed me that the assets issue has been fixed I was going to do a test with the model. It’s now been loading and stuck on 99% for 20mins. I think I will go back to 3.3 until this issue is fixed. I have updated all drivers etc and still the same problem :frowning:

Hi @Herbo and @hbc_visual

I’m sorry to hear about this issue, could you both please send us a feedback report including the log files as seen here, and please also add a link to this thread in the description for context.

Additionally, you can add my name so I will pick this up.

Hi @Rick_Marx I will try to sort this out later today for you

… Nothing?

I can’t promise that i’ll find the time to reinstall and test out just now… maybe within the week. But thanks!

You can still submit the report and we’ll receive all the generated log files anyway, even if you’ve reinstalled a previous release.

On top of that, it may also be very helpful to receive one of the projects itself for further troubleshooting purposes if that is possible? If so let me know and I’ll provide you with a safe/confidential upload link.

@Demian_Gutberlet Send me over the secure link pal and I will sort something out later for you

I’ve send you the logfiles! I did not know the logs were preserved when installing new versions
unfortunately i cant share the file, as it is confidential. I’ll see if I can bypass that somehow. do you have an email i can send a wetransfer to?

I’ve sent you a DM with my e-mail, thanks Herbo. @hbc_visual , you can also simply make use of wetransfer.com and use the e-mail I’ve sent you as well.

I also had to roll back to 3.3 because of this issue. In my case, large files which opened in 3.3 now just crash when opening with 3.4

I’m sorry to hear about that too - You can definitely send us a feedback report with your logs and if we require it, a project file of yours. I’ll let you know and will keep you all posted here.

Just installed 3.4 - Also slow to launch. Been using 3.2 for the past few months and a project file that is generally quick to load is taking much longer.

I’ve have noticed increased load times and stuttering when trying to fly through the models on 3.4 as well.

@Vlad_Moldovan , @jtubb , @Tearch , we have already received a Feedback Report from user @hbc_visual so at this point, we still require a project file with which you experience this. As mentioned before, you can just make use of wetransfer.com and then share the download link to the files through a DM if the scene is confidential.

@hbc_visual , @Herbo , not to bother you again, but feel free to upload any scene of yours as well if you can. Because the sooner we receive example files the quicker our developers can resolve these problems.

@hbc_visual thanks for providing the feedback. We’ve had a first look at the log file and there appears to be a problem with several (custom?) asset files that cannot be loaded. I’ll double check with my colleagues on possible causes and we’ll get back to you.

In the meantime: If you don’t mind giving the 3.4 version another try: Do you have the option to hide all assets (e.g. if they’re all on a layer) and start Enscape without them, to verify if this is merely an asset loading issue or if there’s something else in addition to that? Thanks in advance!

Hi @Clemens_Musterle thanks for looking at this. I can try and load up the file later tonight maybe in 3.4 and will hide everything when saving it before loading Enscape. Will let you know later or tomorrow how it goes.

@Clemens_Musterle just to add, attached screen shot of model when I load it, compared to what it should look like, not sure what’s happening, and this is with 3.3. I need to render this scene out again but every time I go to export I get the graphics warning. This illustrates the fact I have to reload enscape a couple of times to then show the correct textures.

Hi @Clemens_Musterle @Demian_Gutberlet I haven’t had a chance to try this in 3.4 yet but is there any other feedback on these issues?

We’ve received the logs and also a project file and are still investigating. We’re seeing a huge delay until the export from SketchUp is finished completely in the logs. Unfortunately we were not able to reproduce the reported issues on any of our systems so far.

Possible explanations could be that the issue is related to custom assets or SketchUp proxy files, that we’re missing. But this is merely speculation on my end so far.

We’ll keep you posted on new developments of course either here or through the customer support channels .

@Clemens_Musterle thanks for the update, do you know which custom assets it could be from the model, I could try removing these when I do tests on 3.4 later today hopefully. I am on a project so if I can find the time to do this I will but it might have to wait
