3.5 Beta - Framebuffer History/Denoiser Bug

Seem to be having some kind of issue when using the VFB history with the Denoiser element to jump between saved renders.

I can reproduce on this machine with a box/sun scene setup. Running Max 2017.

  1. Add VrayDenoiser to elements
  2. Start render 01
  3. Esc to cancel
  4. Save render to VFB History
  5. Start render 02
  6. Esc to cancel
  7. Double click render 01 to load from history
  8. Framebuffer hangs much longer than usual and then loads the effectsResult channel instead of RGB

Are you able to reproduce?

Hi,

I’m going trough the steps you mentioned and VFB loads different channel randomly. Is that the same issue you encountered?
Didn’t get any slow down or hang with this.

Hi Tashko,

I think so, although it seemed to be going to effectsResult for me when I was testing it.

I’m not sure what would be causing the hang, I thought it would be the size of the render being loaded but when I tested it low res with just a box I was getting the same result. Unfortunately I’m not able to test the exact same setup again as it was on a machine where I was freelancing.

We figured out why this happens and we will solve it for the next release.

Best regards,
Vlado

Not sure if it’s the same problem but I’m having similar issue. However instead of loading the effectsResult channel, Vray loads random channels. Sometimes diffuseFilter, sometimes BloomMask, sometimes defocusAmount etc.
