8-core 5960X are now available (UK)

They’ve taken the page down but it was up 5 mins ago.

£760 incl. VAT. That’s a great price..! They are currently selling overclocked bundles OC to 3.6ghz, which is not amazing, but I’ve had confirmation that they easily go to 4.2-4.7ghz using custom WC loops, so should comfortably hit 3.8-4ghz using a closed-loop like a Corsair H100 or similar.

Current DDR4 supply is very slow, so bundles are at 16GB but they are expecting 32GB and 64GB bundles to be available soon.

Good price! Very surprised…

Eagerly awaiting some Cinebench/similar benchmark comparisons between 3930k, 5960X and Xeons.

beast

found a bundle on the website http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-022-OG

Yep. Looking great. I would anticipate we’ll see 32/64GB bundles at 3.8-4ghz within the next few months, by which time the price of DDR4 and the motherboards will have dropped too. Apparently they are selling those CPUs at a 4% margin so don’t expect prices on those to drop.

My new rig just performed the Cinebench R15 test with 2941 cb

Glad I held off buying my new home workstation. Think I’ll deffo get one based around this chip, and maybe even another as a render slave

Fantastic!!!

Nice one!
Could you give us your rig specs?

Sure - sorry. Kind of a pointless fact without them!
Dual E5-2697 v2 (24/48 threads)
64GB Ram
Quadro 4000

Nice. I geuss you can update your spec in your signature now :- )
This new one makes that one look like an old XT

Pretty cool. The new 5930K (549eur) outperforms the 4960X (970eur) in the rendering benchmark.
Also the 5820K (350eur) is pretty close to the 4960X.
That´s quite a performance boost compared to the price.

But I would have expected the 5960X would perform a bit better with it´s 8 cores compared to the 6 cores.
Can´t wait for a Vray benchmark.
