Is there a viewport benchmark available? If it is a few times better than a GTX580 or 680, I’ll go for the 7970 and Vray RT CPU.

Any 7970 owner who have tried the new driver?

tried with the latest 12.9 Beta 9/26/2012 driver vrayRT openCL - crashes with the blender cycles openCL - crashes when I compare viewport performance to my 2yr old quadro fx3800, the hd 7970 seems to me slightly slower

A friend PMed me about him having success with RT GPU and 12.10 drivers running on HD7950. Did not read anything about that here, so I wish I could confirm those great news…is it true? Does VRay RT GPU at last work with OpenCL and those GCN beasts?
