Another (much dreaded) DR question

Generally DR is flawless for me - with the odd re-start fixable glitch. One thing that is a minor issue: my primary workstation is also my license server. It renders everything just fine, but when it acts as a DR slave when rendering from another machine I often have trouble getting it to kick in. The vray log often shows the connection as refused, but eventually it picks up and goes, or occasionally I can just restart the spawner and it works fine. It almost never works right off though - and sometimes never goes pick up.

Is there something with the license server that might interfere? Otherwise I think it should be all much the same setup, network-wise. This machine is running Vista64 and I’m on Max 2012

p.s the firewall is off for this, and the 30304 port is also manually opened. Again: no issues with DR at all when initiating from this machine, only when it’s acting as a render node.

Argh, the lovely Vista  Can you get me the exact error messages for the refused connection?

Best regard,
Vlado

 Sorry. I would upgrade to 7 but on 5 machines that’s a lot of cash right now!

The message says:
warning: could not connect to host 192.18.0.113: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Sometimes it will still pick up though, and sometimes I get this message from other nodes but usually only when they are still restarting teh spawner etc, and the others always pick up very quickly.

Thanks for looking into it!
