Hi guys,
Anyone know a fancy trick to make a material like this blanket? Its some fluffy thing that I can’t seem to get right.
I have tried scattering with forest pro, as well as some old fur tricks from the forum but nothing looks close on the material side of things.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
That one will be tricky. You really need a good falloff map for the suede-like colour/texture of that, and displacement, and some SSS. It will benefit from a good normal map to create the directional variations in the highlights too. I never had much luck with Vray fur getting that kind of density, but probably that’s just me.
It will be tough IMO.

Went with vray fur and lots of falloffs on the material, and it seems to have come out quite nicely (although a bit blurry on a low res, 5000px is fine!)
attached the scene if anybody else wants it.
cheers for the suggestions

Thanks - I’m interested to check it out for sure. I have never had that kind of result with Vrayfur myself. Looking forward to seeing the setup.
