Currently, materials imported from SketchUp Warehouse assets or external SKP files must be converted individually into V-Ray materials in the Asset Editor before V-Ray-specific attributes can be applied.
On larger projects containing dozens or hundreds of materials, this becomes a repetitive and time-consuming process. The Asset Editor currently only allows conversion on a material-by-material basis, even though V-Ray can already identify which materials have not yet been assigned a V-Ray asset.
Suggested improvements:
• Add a “Convert All SketchUp Materials to V-Ray Materials” command.
• Add multi-select support within the Asset Editor to allow batch conversion of selected materials.
• Provide an optional preference to automatically create V-Ray material assets for all imported SketchUp materials.
• Include a filter showing “Materials Without V-Ray Assets” for easier management.
This would significantly reduce setup time when importing Warehouse content, merging models, or working with large material libraries, while maintaining full compatibility with existing workflows.
