black faces

Can anyone tell me why these faces are rendering so dark? They are the same material as the rest of the cabinet - And I have a vraylight in the lamp that does not seem to make any difference if it is on or not - Also been havnig trouble with vray displacement and losing faces - I could add a hundred lights and it would not get any brighter - Have I missed a setting somewhere?
Thanks guys
Mike

flipped faces

Okay I just flipped the faces on thiese blocks and now they look okay - I thought vray rendered in force double sided mode? Any idea what is going on?

Mike

I think that 2 sided mode is working inverted. Try leaving these faces unfliped and uncheck 2-sided to see if it’s correct

Regards

it happens when ur modeling is bad in the way of the render
example make a plane and exclude to the back it looks dark coz u cant make a plane whit no volumen u need to make it again … -.-

a btw if u have a chamfler box in the wood thing i dont remeber the name in english >< put some more polys and it will render

it renders the faces in 2 sided mode, but it takes the illumination from the inside of the object, same goes for reflection

i’ve encoutered it before and i figured it out when a reflective flipped face showed the inside of my model

these are canned blocks is there an easier way to flip the faces that are flipped besides picking each one?

Thanks guys
Mike
