I am rendering an image with spotlights and a black shadow keep forming around my spotlight making it look extremely unrealistic. i will post a picture of the render along with the spotlight settings.

Does it help if you set the Environment Fog to be affected by the Spot lights only?:
You might need to adjust the Fog Distance after that.
