I was just wondering if anybody out there ever sold the people that they shot. I need to stay away from all the bad stuff out there, i.e. RPC… I would be willing to sign any documents saying I would not resell it or give it away… I figure it’s a good way to recoup some cost??? Anyways, thought I would at least ask.
If you’re trying to stay away from Rpc’s, buying bluescreened people won´t help u much. Ideally, your cg and real light conditions should match, otherwise it will look fake. That´s not the case with RPC’s and I am afraid it would be about the same with the second case. As a workaround, u could always change your cg lighting schemes if possible, in order to get a more suitable cg environment for your preshot people.
We are considering the shooting of bluescreen people, but our preliminary tests show us it should be done on a per-shot basis rather than a good-for-all solution.
Unfortunately, i don´t know any bluescreen collection, but u could always start with some examples, which come with combustion or even after effects, to see how it goes. Commonly, u will find such chroma key shots in the section “Keying”.
rpc’s dont have to necessarily be bad looking. Just stay away from the really bad looking ones. Their newer libraries are much nicer.
Actually I have gotten some excellent results from RPC, when used correctly. The problem is I need shots of people that don’t exsist out there, like a door man, people working out, lounging by the pool, all moving and walking about of course. I have also successfully used AXYZ 3d people, but up close they don’t look as good. I’ve seen my competition reuse thier bluescreen people with much success. The problem is the cost of the shooting. The budget of most of the jobs I land dosn’t include a nice camera shoot, so I have to make do with whatever I can get my hands onto.
We too would be interested in libraries of this kind of stuff. Of course, not all people would be usable in all situations, but that goes without saying really.
