Change Materials from Enscape

this will only help, when we can save this changings back to the project or share the changings depends on material with other projects - from my point of view

This would be amazing, and great to speed up the final touches before hitting render.

This is a good concept. There have been time where I would like to do this but it not super important

Would be useful but would still want everything “sent” back to the CAD platform

Would make life a lot easier…

Being able to just do everything in the same window with a client would be great. What my screen shows is the same as theirs.

This would improve workflow significantly!

Yes please. However the changes need to return to the CAD-file or be selectively disregarded.

working with client in live model on occasion so it would be helpful to swap finishe qucily duirng user group meetings.

Important especially in the interaction with our customers, who would like to have a dialog and comparison of different materials while experiencing the project in realtime or VR.

To do quick material tests without having to mess around in revit (similar to flipping between photoshop layers)

For an experienced Revit user the Revit workflow - To much switching back and forth between windows, having to close windows to get to the other window. What the customer wants is the ability to select the material inside of the Enscape window, make a changes and have those changes sync back to Revit, i.e. the ability to apply or change material from Enscape in context without going back to the design file. Simply initiate the change from within Enscape. This could involve selecting the material and opening the Revit material editor which remains on top of the Enscape window.

The material editor and library don’t anticipate multi user workflow or shared files.

When replacing a Revit material that is already scheduling correctly and has a surface pattern applied to it with an Enscape Material, The Enscape Material will override without warning, all of this you will lose the name, its scheduling information is lost as well as the surface pattern. (Right now we have a workaround around for this that we tell users but it is not one they would find on their own), If we could have a way to ask the user if they would simply like to replace the appearance tab that would be beneficial. The Revit work flow of selecting an object and editing material its properties may be inelegant but it creates certainty because of context.

an Eyedropper tool in the Enscape renderer and Material Editor / Library, to select and edit materials without having to go back to the CAD to do so, allowing users to work with a single screen.

I work in Revit and it is a pain to switch between programs, unless you know the name of the mat you need to change.

For revit links this would be useful. Typically mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) models do not often have materials applied. It would be nice to override these link models for streamlined walkthroughs.

Currently if you want make a material slightly less reflective (for example), it can be an ordeal to figure out what material is exactly on that piece (in programs like Revit, there’s not always a straightforward way to do this), then you need to go find this material in the material editor (but it might not show up because it’s not a Revit generic material). Now you need to go back to Revit material editor, duplicate to generic and open the enscape material again…

The hope is that a ‘material sampler’ tool could make this process a lot easier.

This is a for sure nice to have feature that would help in some situations.

As long as the changes are reflected back in the base CAD model, this would be fantastic!

I want to have it
