nice one vlado!
ah so…wasn’t thinking that far ahead, as usual
So does that mean we will not get the installation cd with the help files on the disk when we get the dongle?
Vlado:
It would be good if there was a database/webpage that showed our order progress for the dongles, or perhaps an email to tell us that the dongle request was recieved. Perhaps you could confirm that our order request for dongles came through? (Company is The Juice in the UK)
I havn’t receieved any emails from you for a while, I was wondering if there was a problem in that respect? Normally we get an annoucement via email.
with two license is dr supporting more than 10 nodes now?

two licenses means 20 DR slaves, no ?

Should we wait until final version is released instead of installing one of the RC’s? should we expect some bug removal in the final or they will be essentially the same?
Would you like to get one? We had not planned on this originally (the help index will be further updated), but then again it should not be a problem.
Best regards,
Vlado
You should have received an automatic confirmation email that we have received your request. If you didn’t get that, let us know either by email or phone.

Yes.

I’m sure there will be the odd bug to fix here and there, but other than that, the final will be the same (e.g. no new features added until we get this out).
Best regards,
Vlado
I can’t get it to work - it’s constantly saying it can’t find the license. All I did was run the installer, my IP address hasn’t changed, the dongle’s plugged in, and VRayLicenseServer is running fine.
I just reinstalled RC1, and it works fine…
I think the problem is that we changed the vrlservice port number to 30304, so that it doesn’t conflict with the old vrlserver from the 1.4 versions. You will need to update this from the Authorization dialog. Let me know if this helps or not.
Best regards,
Vlado

Thanks Vlado, I called your office and sorted out my reqest.
That did the trick - thanks!
Thanks for the quick update, Vlado and Peter. This RC fixes all the issues we were having…
You all get a gold star!

Any news on releasing schedule for academic version of new V-ray 1.5?
Is there going to be the same licensing system ( dongle ) as with commercial version?
yes it will use the dongle as well and we should have the academic version by the end of the week.
I installed from the disk from siggraph. It is rc1. What are the main differences from rc1 to rc2 ?
Just wondering if I should be in a hurry to upgrade.
Regards,
Mike
