hi to all
i recently updated my vray and i have this little problem…
in the past version i used to import maps directly into sketchup, and used to edit them there… i usually make them brighter or change it’s tint without having to go to photoshop…, then i used to create vray materials and render them with their modified tone…
but now after i edit them nothing is rendered, therefore i have to raster the original map… the thing is that found a GREAT wooden floor texture, but i need it with a different color, and if i raster the image from my pc, vray obviously renders the original darker image… and i can’t get the right tone in photoshop…
can anybody please give me a hand with this? what i want is to render my modified map exactly the way it looks like in sketchup, just the way i used to do it
thank you very much for your time ![]()
Re: color correction problem
VfSU never did render SketchUp textures that had been colour adjusted very well. The blend was very poor and did not reproduce what you saw in SU. And the latest version doesn’t support it at all. (Think it was never fully supported.)
The only method that works for sure, and works correctly is adjusting the colours in an image-editor. This is easier in SU7 as you have a new menu for materials where you can open the texture in your chosen editor.
Re: color correction problem
well, thank you, i guess i will have to look for some new textures, but it’s fine…
the thing is that i used to use a lot of the textures from sketchup… like the woods for instance… i used to pick one, scale it and modify it’s color, and then i used to pick the same texture scale it in a different way and make them both as a vray material… hehehe, now it’s going to be a little more work, but it’s fine.
thank you again 8)
Re: color correction problem
You can try the “make unique texture” option in SU. I believe that should make a new material with the color correction properly applied. After applying a material to an object, right click the face with the material applied, and choose “Make Unique Texture”.
