Corona 8 - didn't save tonemapping settings to cxr

My first render using C8 and this problem occurred. I rendered it using Backburner to one of my nodes. DBR was on using another node - all appeared normal.

I watched the progress using remote desktop & I made a few tweaks (as per usual) whilst rendering.

It finished up and saved as per usual but when I opened my cxr as it looked like a rainbow - with most tonemapping parameters set to 0.

Thoughts?

I fixed this in the CIE, and saved out the settings. But when I reloaded it - it stuffed it again. Hope this one can be fixed ASAP. I’m a dumbass for updating mid project.

Hi,

You can downgrade to Corona Renderer 7 to continue working while the issue is being investigated.
Regards.

Great.

Hi, can you please kindly provide the CXR file?

Mind PMing me your email please and I’ll send you a Dropbox link?

Please check PM here in the forums.

Hi again, I am guessing these are the correct tone-mapping parameters right?

Can you please try and delete the “Corona” folder, located here \AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2023 - 64bit\ENU\en-US\plugcfg\corona and try to load the CXR again within CIE, if it fails at first please close CIE and try to re-load it.

Hi

Those are the correct settings but removing the folder didn’t fix the issue.

**EDIT I’ve reverted back to the old corona folder in case there are some settings that I have set somewhere.

One more thing you can try, re-run Corona version 8 setup and select custom installation, make sure that Corona Image editor is selected. Can you please clarify which version of 3dsMax you currently have installed? Also, where is the CXR file being loaded from, locally?

I’m using 2020 and the cxr saves to/and is loaded from a file server (NAS).

Interesting, can you try and load it locally please?

So it works locally.

Perfect, so there is the issue, this is a bug most likely I ll try and reproduce this and report it to the dev. team. Please stay posted, and thank you for the cooperation.

(Report ID=CRMAX-1625)

Ok cool thanks for your help.

I re-rendered this overnight (via backburner on one of my nodes), I just opened the file and it opens as expected.

I guess it’s an intermittent problem, or an anomaly? Or maybe because I didn’t change any tone mapping parameters whilst it was rendering?

Edit the new version didn’t have any Lightmix elements either*

**Edit 2 - this has been working all day as it should. But just now it didn’t work when opening a CXR. I closed it and re-opened and it worked. Weird. It’s intermittent

Hi and thanks for the update, I will update the task with the information provided.
