Corona - Tanslucency & Refraction don't math at all in Vantage

Hello,

as in the title, Corona Translucency & Refraction don’t math at all.
I mean, the Corona render and the Vantage render are different.
Look at the next images. I used a simple scene, with simple colors (no textures).

----------------------

REFRACTION
As we know, Refraction is affected by Roughness. With the same Roughness amount, the Vantage render is less “transparent” (more glossy), while in Corona I’m able to see the cylinder.

TRANSLUCENCY
Translucency is not affected by Roughness. But, with the same Translucency value, the Vantage render is more “saturated”.

----------------------

This is a problem, since I have to create two different Curtain materials: one for Corona and another one for Vantage since the differences are huge, especially in the room lighting, in a daylight situation.

I see that Roughness, Translucency and Refraction are supported

But, as you see, the support is not good.

So, what’s the problem? Is this a bug? If yes, can you fix it?

.

Thanks for the report. I have logged this for our developers and hopefully we can improve it.
CMAX-1541 and CMAX-1542

Thank you Marcin!

CMAX-1542 - translucency looking different in Corona and Vantage - unfortunately, this is expected. There is also a similar difference between V-Ray and Vantage.

CMAX-1541 - refraction roughness mapping incorrectly to Vantage - this is fixed in an internal build and will be available in the upcoming preview builds / release.
