After last night, I am having the problem of my vray not being able to obtain a license (10061).
Nothing happened as far as I am concerned - no updates, no software installations etc.
I have checked the firewall settings - in fact I have even tried with it turned off completely.
And my network server is up and running.
Attached is the settings of my vray.
If anyone can shed some light into what my problem is, it’d be much appreciated.
Did you check if the license server is running on any of those machines? Also, for now, avoid using the third alternate license server - you can put it as the second one, as both localhost and 127.0.0.1 mean the same thing.
I have same problem occured.

Now I terminate and re-launched the wibukey network server and it works.
but this error occured whenever start windows and Max.
This error means that the license server is not running, or V-Ray is looking for it in the wrong place, or something blocks the connection. Things to check:
1) Make sure that the license server is running (check the Task Manager for vrlservice.exe, make sure that “Show processes from all users” is enabled)
2) Make sure you have entered the correct IP address for the license server in the V-Ray settings (you can use the Start menu > Chaos Group > V-Ray for 3ds Max > Licensing > Administration > Change V-Ray client license settings shortcut)
3) Make sure you can connect to the license server from a web browser (on the machine which runs V-Ray, open a web browser and type http://licenseserverIP:30304 where licenseserverIP is the IP address of the license server or localhost if it is running on the same machine) and that you can see the license server status page
If you want to have the license server run automatically when you start the machine, you can register it as a Windows service from Start menu > Chaos Group > V-Ray for 3ds Max > Licensing > Administration > Register V-Ray license service. Another way to do it is to create a shortcut to the license server inside the Startup folder of the Start menu.
You do not need the WIBUKEY network server. Only the V-Ray license server.
I am having the this issue as well on my remote pc used for rendering. When I turn off the firewall on my main pc, the one with the dongle - the remote pc can see it. what ports do i need to open for vray to talk to the license server?
