Hi,
Why are these black borders in my glass material? In real life, when I look at a glass I don’t even see a border there.
Any suggestions?

What are your glass settings?

try bringing up the ray depth?
I use Vraymaterial.
Diffuse black
reflect---faloff map (compare with fresnell reflections)
max depth=5
exit color=black (changing this doesn’t cure the problem)
refract=white
max depth=5
exit color turned off (also changing this doesn’t help)
R2J2 is right, it must be the depht value, try to increase it until 16 or even higher, but 8 should be enough I guess.

Nope, this doesn’t help, even depth=50…
It is reflection related, because when I turn them off, the problem is gone. Also when I have them on but less pronounced, it is better.
I can alsmost get rid of them, but at the cost of less reflection, and in my opinion, glass is still reflective…
Probably you have fresnel checked too, uncheck it if you are using a falloff map

Ok correction, changing reflection depth helps a bit.
When I compromise in reflection a bit, I get a good result. But absolutely not when using fresnell! I regular falloff map and control the reflection falloff with the curve of the fallaoff map, this works best and gives me most control.
<no I don’t use falloff map and fresnell at the same time>
thanks for the replies!
