Hello,
I’m having a DR rendering issue where some buckets are rendered differently than the others.
Upon research, I found that if I use my workstation as “localhost”, my computer renders these artifacts.
If I start VraySpawner and use the same machine as a server, all buckets match with my 4 other render slaves.
As localhost:
As render slave:
At first, I thought the issue is caused by my workstation being AMD 3990X and my render nodes all identical i9’s, but since I found a way to achieve correct results with my workaround, I think this is a bug. It would be okay, but rendering like this the per-frame time is slower.
My system is 3ds Max 2020, SP4
Vray 5 update 1.3
Thank you in advance,
Joosep
For starters, try updating to the latest official V-Ray version and see if the issue is still occurring. If that doesn’t help, do send the scene via the contact form so we can investigate. Mention me and include a link to this thread in the message.
Thank you @hermit.crab ! I thought about updating but since the project is part of an already existing render and the final render has to match with the previous one, I didn’t want to update mid-production. Also, I didn’t see any bug fixes related to my problem listed under version history.
And since the render takes about a week to finish on my small farm, I don’t want to cancel it now that I have finally figured out a workaround. But I’ll come back to this once I have the clean render out and can do the update on my machines.
@hermit.crab I updated all my machines to the latest version of Vray and unified Nvidia drivers as well but the artifacts still show up, when my workstation is added as localhost to DR rendering.
Send the scene as instructed above, so we can troubleshoot it.
