I get the error that driver 418 is not recommended and to use 417. Is this critical if this is the only error I get?

Good drivers are recommended for a reason. Chances are you will have troubles with drivers that are listed are troublesome.

Like what Blago said, 418 drivers are very bad, you will get many errors with it
