ERROR Please help

Hi guis i’m trying to render something and this is happining any one knows what is goin on?

Re: ERROR Please help

That is a very generic error message. Can you explain exactly what was going on prior to the crash? Did you click Render? Did it start to render? More information would be very helpful.

Re: ERROR Please help

when i press render, it waits dont starts and make this, my pc is a core2 quad q6600
2GB DDR2 800 RAM, geforce 8600GT 512, the file in sketchup is about 134MB

???

Re: ERROR Please help

So you’re saying that the crash happens after you press the render button and then wait for a while? You’re also saying that the .skp file is 134mb? I would say your computer is probably running out of memory and crashing. You can see how much memory SketchUp is using, by opening the Windows Task Manager, clicking on the “Processes” tab, and then looking through the list of processes, until you find SketchUp. You said you have 2gb of ram, so if SketchUp is using anywhere close to that much ram, it will probably crash, because other applications are going to be using up some of your memory as well.

We recently made some changes to the way that V-Ray for SketchUp manages the memory it uses, so you want to make sure that you have the latest version from our site. We just posted a new version last night (1.00.73). Another good test, would be to try rendering a scene that is smaller (maybe about half that size), and see if it crashes. Again, look in the task manager to see how much ram is being used.

If you would like to send us the scene, you could upload it to a personal server, or to a file hosting site such as www.mediafire.com, and then send us a link to the file so we can download and test it. I’m 99.9% certain that you’re running out of memory though.

Re: ERROR Please help

It is possible to avoid this by marking the “low thread priopity” option? thanks

Re: ERROR Please help

Probably not. Low Tread Priority simply allows for other applications or tasks to be computed as early as possible while the rendering proceeds. This doesn’t change the amount of memory that is used by SU/vfsu.

Re: ERROR Please help

Clean you temp folder…if you have “your uninstaller 2008” that will clean all the unnecessary files.. when rendering don’t turn the shadows “on” in sketchup disable it and you can use madoext.visopt. whatever file size you got just clean your temp every render and before render.

Before I’m having this “Runtime error program need to close… etc” but now no problems anymore. JUST DISABLE THE SHADOW IN SKETCHUP and CLEAN YOUR TEMP FOLDER.

I’m rendering 122mb no problem. ;D
