i wanted to ask if there is a theoretical chance that Corona will get an export to Chaos Vantage sometime in future?
it seems the material system in v7 and also rest of corona is techically, and settings wise very close in many parts to V-ray 5, and probably could be translated into a .vrscene (compatible) file, which vantage uses and can read.
is this plausible or am i wrong?
are others have the same wish?
even if the look is different for us at least it wouldbe great to have this option for realtime rendering in future.
(of course c4d shaders needed to be baked or translated i assume, bitmap textures shoudl be easy to stranlate to vrscene)
Nothing new at this time - you can bet if and when there is, we’ll be letting you know Right now all focus is on Corona 11 and what was planned for it.
why not make the new scene converter also backwards working (corona<–>vray6),
i assume it is pretty easy to revert the direction, then any corona scene can be converted to vray in 1 click and exported to vantage. many studios have both corona and vray. this woudl it make also easier to work with both together.
this woudl bring more vantage customers to chaos and make many corona users happy.
WHAT’S AHEAD?
We’re still finalizing the features we hope to include in Corona 12. We can give you a very quick overview for now, though!
Improved Compatibility
First will be a focus on compatibility and integration with other Chaos tools. For example, we want to improve Converters to and from Corona, and investigate things such as exporting a Corona scene to Vantage, and working with Cloud Collaboration, to see what is possible.
