Exterior shot - 360 skybox created on site with a 360 camera - (go pro max)

Quality of skybox is very high when using VR or 360 export - but for some reason a single image rendering creating a pixelated background

@rhdesign , the quality of the background should not be much different in terms of perception when it comes to either a rendering or 360 panorama - can you perhaps share one of the panoramas with me to check out?

Sure, here is a 360 from a different location but same skybox

@rhdesign , thanks a lot - it should really boil down to the skybox file itself I’m afraid. Via the case we’re also in contact with, the file you’ve shared, this behaviour you’re seeing is normal. You can gladly acquire a dedicated higher resolution/quality skybox from HDRIhaven for example to see for yourself. The perspective in the rendering may stretch the background a bit more compared to the output in the Web Standalone, but overall the quality should be the same.

@Demian_Gutberlet I rather create my own skybox directly at the site, which add an element of realism for the VR presentations and the 360 panoramas.

The images from Gopro Max are 5760x2880,

A 4K image from HDRihaven is 4096x2048.

Any higher resolution is coming with a hefty file size.

Bottom line is actual location skyboxes are much better for real projects, even if the quality is a bit blurry. Maybe one day Enscape will add an ability to control the skybox resolution and size.

Thank you

I too need to use actual backgrounds, so clients see their lake views out of each window. I use an Insta360 OneX camera. The image size is 6080 x 3040 but is quite blurry as the Enscape background, and quite disappointing. Is there any setting to change to improve the quality? It is a shame to have a high quality image appear blurry in our tours. Thanks!
