This is my first render ever with VFSU, just for the record I just CAN’T make the friggin displacement map on the grass to work :'(, it shows in the preview but not in the render… any suggestions most welcome.

It looks like you have displacement on the grass but the intensity just needs to be raised.

Also. The face you have the displaced grass must not be in contact with any faces with different materials. Then the displacement won’t work.
Also, the multipler of the displacement defines the height of the displacement. a Multiplier of 1.0 gives an displacement of 1 inch.
And you want to avoid really large planes with displacement. Split it into smaller faces.
Btw, I prefer photoshopping the grass in afterwards as displaced grass never looks right.

Looks pretty good for the first render. I would agree with Thomthom. I usually do the grass in PS aswell. I would try and avoid the big strokes that you have put in. It is distracting from the building.
The shadows and sky look great, I would put some background items in (trees, plants, etc) to break up the horizon line. And add a few objects out and around the building to make it fit in the environment a little more. Keep posting.
