frosted glass not right

Hi All,

I am looking for some advice on my renders. I am trying to make a frosted acrylic material. The material I currently have on there is too reflective. This acrylic that I am making is not reflective, but it should have more of a sheen to it.

Also I have tough time seeing through the glass.I want to be able to see through it but obviously not like clear glass.

I enclosed a screen grab of the material settings

Thanks again for all the advice

Cheers

then be reflective.

Acrylic glass (PMMA) data: http://refractiveindex.info/?shelf=organic&book=poly(methyl\_methacrylate)&page=Szczurowski

Thick material Fresnel ON and use WHITE reflection color. Reflection IOR can be locked to the refraction IOR, but in real is it a bit lower (about 1.35 - 1.4). Adjust glossiness, etc…
If you on V-Ray 3.1+, use BRDF GGX and lock RGlossiness with the HGlossiness (use value depending surface roughness - if polished, about 0.98 and GTR tail falloff about 4). You need to experiment…

Opps… Just now pay attention - reduce refraction max. depth param.

Thank you.

I will try that and see what I can come up with.

“Everything has fresnel”

I would turn off interpolation. I never use it for frosted glass. Render times increase but you get a much more accurate result.
