g-buffer question(problem?/bug?)

hello guys,
i´m tryin to render out some g-buffer channels,
like shadow, diffuse etc.
the problem is that they don´t have their own alphachannel.
they all have the same alphachannel which contains all objects.
am i missing something?
the second thing is that the diffuse channel of vray seems to be
completely different than that one which scanline renderes.
any ideas?help really appreciated!

V-Ray cannot compute an alpha channel for the different elements, which is why it simply copies the alpha from the final image.

As for the diffuse channel differences - it would be helpful if you can show some images.

Best regards,
Vlado

hi vlado,
1.how are channels like shadows or effects usefull for compositing if they have no seperate alphachannel?is using the matteoption the only way to get objects seperated?
2.the diffusechannel in vray simply looks exactly like the alphachannel.everything´s white.i think i once had color in an earlier rendering but only for one object using vraymaterial, but all the other standardmaterials still rendered pure white.i retried that, but it didn´t work,
all objects are just white?!
i´m using max7.5 with vray1.47.03.maybe that´s the problem?

best regards
leszek

The vray framebuffer only supports vraymtls for most channels.

It is a good idea to use only vraymtls anyways since you can see upto a 50% speed increase in renders

Hi Leszek!

Call me if you still have problems (bin wie immer bei BM)…
