Currently, many V-Ray render settings are stored in individual SketchUp files, requiring users to repeatedly adjust them when starting new projects.
Most users work from a preferred baseline configuration for quality, denoising, resolution, colour management, rendering engine, and environment settings. While template files can partially address this, they are not a substitute for application-level defaults.
Suggested improvements:
• Allow users to save a “Default Render Configuration” at the application level.
• Automatically apply these settings to all new SketchUp files.
• Support multiple named startup presets (e.g. Concept, Production, Animation, Cloud Rendering).
• Provide Import/Export functionality for sharing presets across teams and workstations.
• Include a “Restore My Default Settings” command to quickly reset a project to a user’s preferred configuration.
This would streamline project setup, reduce repetitive configuration work, improve consistency across projects, and make V-Ray feel more efficient for everyday production workflows.
