GPU building light cahe slow

Hi everyone, I just finished to work on a project where dimension of the shop and amount of objects, and building the light cache was very responsive and quick.

I’m finding my self now working on a very simple scene, right now just walls of a room, a window facade and a white override material, building light chace, either in IPR or finale render takes a lot of time.
Any know reason?
I tried ti copy the scene in a new one but still the same.
Would you need to check the scene?

Lorenzo

Hi @lorenzo_spinola

Yes please, if I reproduce this on my end I will make sure it is fixed.
Please send the scene to muhammed.hamed@chaos.com

Best,
Muhammed

Good morning Muhammed,
just sent you the email.
Thanks a lot.

Lorenzo

Thank you for the scene!
I’m able to reproduce on my side, this seems to be related to your override material setup. I logged the issue in our system VGPU-6031
For the time being use lower amount of LC Subdivs, it should be helpful

Best,
Muhammed

Hi Mohammed,
Thanks for assisting in this.
I tried again with the scene.
it seems to work “fine”, I guess", if I switched off the object with the wrapped material applied.
Could you check/confirm if it does the same to you? or if it’s a known issue or if it’s should work correctly.

Thanks again
Lorenzo

Hey @lorenzo_spinola

Thank you! you are right, this is about material wrapper in your setup
Without material wrapper I get 5 seconds for GPU LC phase
With material wrapper I get 19 seconds for GPU LC phase, I’m using one 3090 for this test
I added to the ticket, thank you again and have a great day!

Best,
Muhammed
