Hi
using the vray benchmark scene, I am only getting 4-5% GPU usage after the first 2-4 seconds of the render , using RTX
what gives?
using a 4090
my rtx score is ~ 5717
kind regards
Harv
Hi, thanks for posting. What host platform do you use (for example 3dsMax)?
Your result seems normal according to the V-Ray Benchmark statistics for a single RTX 4090.
Please test you video card with dedicated performance testing software. The Task Manager is not a reliable diagnostics tool for GPU.
If you find your V-Ray GPU performing slow, please share a bit more info about this.
Hi, thanks for the reply
I agree the benchmarks are fine, was just wondering why the GPU utilisation was soo low?
I’m using 3ds max.
I’m doing a comparison with blender and vray scenes, and blender GPU utilisation hits 80-90 consistently, where as my Vray scene is under 20%
again , this is all through windows task manager
I will get IT to install GPU-Z , and I will monitor with that and report back
Hi, since V-Ray Benchmark shows normal results then your system is fine. If you have issues using V-Ray GPU these are most likely related to something in the scene. You could also be running out of video memory.
hi
“stats” tab says~13gb used of ~24gb
I will try with over ride material too, just to check
just as a quick question, if everything is fine in scenes, what should GPU utilisation be running at, have u a example scene where it runs high?
Where do you monitor the GPU utilisation? Any scene should be fully utilising the GPU. Try to import Cosmos assets and a hdri lighting and test. Make sure the test scene renders for a bit more time, not just a few seconds.
hi
iv downloaded GPU-z , GPU load is showing close to full load ![]()
There you have it ![]()
