GPU vs CPU HDRI's

Hi Guys,

I’m working on a project and comparing CPU vs GPU’s and production results…for some reason GPU affects the scene differently with HDRI’s, I have lit with a dome light with pretty standard settings. I notice a big difference especially in reflections.

Does anyone know whats going on and why HDRI’s are handled differently?

I’m not sure if it’s the HDR since the lighting is pretty much the same. It might be something on the materials that’s not supported.

Best regards,
Vlado

I notice it the most on the floor reflections.. I have a gradient ramp in the opacity to blend the floor plane in with the background. I can see the HDRI’s refection were in CPU and production I cant. Disabling fresnel in the reflections seems give me close to CPU results.

Hi,

Can you post an example scene setup (without textures) with one of the problematic elements.
I will try to investigate what cause this differences in reflections.
Do you use Wrapper or CarPaint shader?

I figured it out…I had the dome light exclude the floor plane. RT GPU does not seem to exclude objects in Vray lights. that explains the HDRI reflections on the floor, the rest just picks up higher reflection due to most or my materials have noise in them.

Thanks!

Thank you for the update.
Include/exclude list for V-Ray lights in RT is not supported yet.
